Lost and Found


If you lose valuables:


Go to the nearest police station / police box (koban) / residential police box where it seems you might have lost the valuables, and file a lost report.

If you lose valuables on the train, train station, in a department store, or other facilities, first contact the station staff, sales clerk, or people who manage the facilities.

If you lose credit card, bank card or cellular phone, report loss to issuing credit card company, bank or cellular phone company in order to prevent illegal use.

 

If you find valuables:


Place where you make found report differs from the place you found it.

Valuables found in a street, should be returned to the owner or taken to the nearest police station/police box / residential police box to where you found valuables.

The person who found valuables and filed its found report to police within 7 days of the day you found it, has right to receive reward for it when its owner is found, or may be granted its ownership if the original owner will not be found.

Valuables found on the train station, in a department store, or other facilities, should be taken to the company's / facility's lost and found department.

The person who found valuables and report it the company's lost and found department within 24 hours of the time you found it, has right to receive reward for it when its owner is found, or may be granted its ownership if the original owner will not be found.
